PYP课程以概念为驱动,以探究为主要学习方式,围绕六大超学科主题,统领语言、数学、科学、社会学等六大学科领域知识,形成超学科主题式探究课程体系。教学通过探究、合作等学习过程,让学生爱思考、善质疑、会交流、富想象。课堂内,超学科的学习过程和体验,有助于学生理解各个学科领域的相互联系,从而将知识和能力融会贯通。课堂外,每个探究单元都会有和主题相契合的实地考察,使学生的学习可以联系生活实际,开放学生的思维与眼界,旨在培养学生成为具有独立思考能力、创造力、合作精神与国际情怀的世界小公民。
The PYP courses is a learning system with concept-driven and inquiry as its main way of learning. Centering on the six transdisciplinary themes, PYP leads the knowledge of language, mathematics, science, sociology and other six subjects to form a transdisciplinary thematic inquiry curriculum system. Teaching through inquiry, cooperation and other learning processes ignites the students' love for thinking, questioning, and skill of communication and rich imagination. In the classroom, the learning process and experience of interdisciplinary subjects help students to understand the interconnection between various subject areas, so as to integrate different knowledge and abilities. Outside the classroom, each inquiry unit will have a community-based learning experience which could be a field trip or a guest speaker. This facilitates a connection of the students' learning to authentic real-world experiences. These broaden the students ’thinking and vision with an aim to cultivate global citizens who can think independently, be creative and cooperative and develop international emotional intelligence.
